FAQ

Have Questions about Inpatient? We are here to help!

How effective is the Inpatient Treatment Program at Sunrise?

At Sunrise Recovery + Treatment Center, we are committed to providing personalized and evidence-based treatment that leads to long-term recovery. Our 30-day Inpatient Treatment Program is our most intensive program. In extreme cases, patients may enroll consecutively for a total of 60 days of this level of treatment.  Others will graduate onto our Outpatient or Flexible Treatment program. Regardless of your level of need for treatment, the outcomes speak for themselves, and we invite you to explore our success rates and patient testimonials.

When will I be able to be admitted to the Inpatient Treatment Program?

Depending on our current inpatient level, the current demand for service, and our staffing capabilities, Inpatient Treatment may have a wait list as the supply/demand fluctuates.  Check in with our office and inquire about availability for Inpatient services.  Assuming there is availability, we are available to admit patients 24/7, 365 days a year.

Do you have private rooms available?

The availability of private rooms varies depending on occupancy, staffing, and clinical recommendations. When available, a private room is issued on a first come first serve basis.

What should I pack for my loved one's inpatient stay?

Our Inpatient Packing Checklist (and leave at home) can help you prepare for your loved one’s stay at Sunrise. Generally, we recommend bringing comfortable clothing and shoes, toiletries, a form of identification, insurance information, and any necessary medications.

How long can I expect to be in treatment?

Every patient is treated individually, and a treatment plan is custom-tailored to meet your needs. The length of a stay is specific to the individual and is typically set in 30-day segments yet based on the severity of the condition and the progress you make. A thorough assessment based on medical necessity and clinical criteria will help to determine length.

  • We have a variable length of stay (LOS) depending on the patient’s needs. Upon admission, the clinical and medical team will work with the patient to develop a treatment plan that best meets their needs. The days can vary based on your individual needs and are typically blocked off in 30-day segments
  • Our Admissions Team at the facility will be best suited to give an informed response based on a plan that is customized for you (or your loved one).
  • We want you to beat this disease and provide you with the best tools for success. You’ll work with your treatment team to develop a comprehensive plan, which will include an initial 30-day commitment to treatment.
  • Often, this recommendation is followed up with a less intensive tier of program, i.e., Outpatient Treatment or a customized Flexible Treatment Program.
  • The exact length of treatment will be influenced by medical and clinical necessity, we will work with you to overcome any challenges to completing treatment.
  • After your inpatient stay, we will work with you on a plan for outpatient care, living arrangements, if needed, and alumni organization involvement.
How long does Detox take?

There is no set length of stay, as detox is a medical process, and time can vary. Patients are encouraged to adhere to their recommended treatment regimen to achieve success.  As a general guideline, we anticipate the Detox phase to run approximately one week.

Do I need to bring anything with me to rehab?

Refer to our Packing Checklist.  Generally, we recommend bringing comfortable clothing and shoes, toiletries, a form of identification, insurance information, and any necessary medications. Enough clothing for 5 days is suitable, as you will have access to laundry facilities during your stay.

If you use any nicotine or tobacco products, please ensure they are sealed and unopened. Please bring enough with you to last your entire stay, as we are unable to provide any for you.

Please leave any valuables at home, as you will not need them during your stay. Reviewing the packing list and packing accordingly will ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Can I use my cell phone?

No. Phones are available for use; please work with your care team on the site. Exceptions can be made for those who are in WorkFlex, which is our program enabling patients to continue fulfilling employment or education responsibilities while in an inpatient rehab facility.

Will I be able to make phone calls?

Yes.

We want you to focus on one thing during your time with us: your recovery. For your first five days in treatment, you will not be able to make outbound phone calls as you are getting acclimated to treatment.
Staff will contact your family should you provide consent during this time to let them know you are safe and provide information on family visitation. There may be exceptions to this based on extenuating circumstances, in which you can make a phone call with a staff member nearby.
After this five-day centering period, you can make limited phone calls to your family and other sober supports.
Can I bring a laptop to treatment

Laptops are sometimes permitted on-site based on the patient’s need and at the discretion of the facility.

Can I receive packages?

Yes, please work with your care team if a delivery is required. However, we do stress bringing all your items with you upon arrival. Please only have needed personal items shipped to the facility with approval from your treatment team.

What should I expect in the first few days my loved one is in treatment?

Your loved one will go through a five-day centering period during which they will not be able to make outbound phone calls. Staff will contact you should your loved one provide consent to let you know they are safe and provide information on family visitation. During this time, they will also undergo a thorough assessment based on medical necessity and clinical criteria to determine their custom-tailored treatment plan.

Will I be able to manage my absence from work, financial, and other personal needs during treatment?
Our Financial Counselors and Case Managers at the sites are well-versed in this area and can help you.
  • You may be eligible for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and you are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • While you cannot be terminated for entering treatment, you can be terminated for missing too much work or poor work performance.
  • The site will work with you on your specific situation when you are in treatment.
